So in addition to being a model, you are involved with band management?

Well, my label with The Last Dance is not band manager.. Actually, I focus moreso on the overall product (image, sound, etc.) of The Last Dance and work more in the direction of their exposure to the public.. Hence, I am The Last Dance promotions and production assistant.

What can you tell me about that?

Being that Rick, Jeff and Peter are good friends of mine, I had a little difficulty at first moving verbally from, ‘hey, it all looks and sounds wonderful,’ and merging into the world of ‘hey, that MAY sound a little flat!!’ The other part of the job requires investigating new promotional avenues. As you probably already know, being that you probably spend a LOT of your time in front of the box that sits on your desk, it takes a LOT of research!! My personality is moreso effective speaking face-to-face with others, so this part of the job is more on a love-hate level… Working with The Last Dance is a very special opportunity. Not only are they all extremely wonderful people, but we all ideal on the basis that ANYTHING is possible if you simply put forth the faith and confidence to succeed! Dreams CAN come true!

So tell me more about The Last Dance?

Unmistakably, The Last Dance has gone from being a local band from Orange County, California, to a very professional group of musicians that have toured the United States, Europe, and Latin America. Their sound has been described with adjectives such as “Energetic,” “Passionate,” “Heartfelt,” “Introspective,” and so on. Journalists have used terms like “Progressive,” “Modern,” “Gothic/Industrial,” “Dark Wave,” and have made comparisons to a variety of artists old and new such as David Bowie, The Cure, U2, VNV Nation, and The Cult. Bands known for their constant experimentation with genre changing sounds. Like The Last Dance, they all generate an audio storybook through professional experience. In addition, they have the unique ability to gather dedicated listeners from all types of musical styles who appreciate a unique sound. The Last Dance has 4 full-length Cd’s plus several notable compilation appearances to their credit. With their forthcoming release, Whispers In Rage (due in 2004), listeners and fans alike will share a new movement, and The Last Dance will again open a new door to a more aggressive and passionate world. Whispers In Rage is a collection of unique sound and experimental creativity, combined with a more “in your face” edge of live vocals and guitars. Harder and with more aggression, still with underlying tones of the original audio voices that are unique to The Last Dance. Want more information?? You should!!” www.thelastdance.com

Are you a musician yourself?

I went through 10 long and tedious years perched upon a piano bench as a child… Never realized how much I would appreciate this at that time. I am still not the best sheet music reader, but I have an excellent ear and have a few swanky compositions.

What sort of music do you like the most?

THE MOST??? ohhhh! *stress* … I’m very eclectic… besides New Wave (a post Raver to Waver!!), Dark Wave, Synth Pop, Big Band, Jazz, Ambient, House, DJ Jazzy House Downbeat D n B (???), Goth, Industrial, Neo-Psychedelia, Apocalyptic Folk, Space Rock, Experimental Jazz, Electronic, Minimalistic, Post-Punk, C-86 (Twee Pop), and a category that I coined as Glitter Pop (Roxy Music, David Bowie, Pulp), the winner of my soul is: Shoegazer = If you are not familiar, you should be!! Shoegazing is a genre of late ’80s and early ’90s British indie-rock, named after the bands’ motionless performing style, where they stood on stage and stared at the floor while they played. The sound of the music was overwhelmingly loud, with long, droning riffs, waves of distortion and cascades of feedback. Vocals and melodies disappeared into the walls of guitars, creating a wash of sound where no instrument was distinguishable from the other. in other words. simply an ethereal fascination for the audio mind!! Bands such as: Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Verve “A Storm In Heaven,” Ride, My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain, Cocteau Twins, Lush, Secret Shine, Chapterhouse, Mum, Mahogany, Bowery Electric, or anything on the ex-long time missed Sarah Records Label for that matter. *whew*
