This cosplayer’s name is Heather or most commonly known as HezaChan. HezaChan currently lives in San Francisco California and has been cosplaying since 2001. Her very first cosplay was at the USA Sugoi Convention and has been cosplaying since then. She won awards such as the Best Interpretive Character Skit, Best presentation and Best Overall cosplay in 2006 in different cosplay conventions. She also modeled for VainGlory as the Official Catherine Cosplayer and due to her hard work and talent she was able to be good enough to be a judge recently in KrakenCon Spring.
HezaChan had dreamed to cosplay Morrigan Aensland perfectly since high school. She already did attempt to make it back in 2004, but it didn’t turn out how she liked it, so she scrapped it; HezaChan only wants to show to us the best and most worthy cosplay she can make. There are many designs of Morrigan throughout different fighting games since Capcom has collaborated on many games with work from Marvel, Tatsunoko and the original Darkstalkers.
But wait, I’m sure everyone here knows of Morrigan Aensland, but just in case some of you don’t know her, Morrigan Aensland is a fictional character in the video game series Darkstalkers. She first appeared in Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors (Vampire: The Night Warriors in Japan). She is an anti-hero and a main protagonist alongside Demitri Maximoff. She is beautiful, sexy, confident, conceited, and playful, Morrigan may be called many things given that she is a succubus, but she is not really evil like the other demons.
You can really see the effort and quality of both the model and costume in this cosplay. The bodysuit is made out of 3 layers of fabric which is vinyl outer layer, heavy canvas middle, and a nice lightweight silky lining. The heavy canvas in the middle is fully boned to make the bodysuit stuff like a corset, so that it can support the large back wings (which is really needed since Morrigan’s wings are located at her lower back) Both sets of wings are made from 2 different kinds of vinyl fabric with a wire frame inside to maintain its shape. I love how the scenery and the photography was done in this cosplay; it’s not just a plain Morrigan in a regular setting, but the background really represents where Morrigan came from – Hell.
HezaChan is a Veteran in cosplaying, since she’s been cosplaying for more than a decade now, and still continues to improve and bring much better cosplay than the previous. So let’s keep supporting her on doing what she love and good with by liking her Facebook Page, following her on Twitter and purchasing some of her prints and other merchandise in her Official Webstore. Let’s also support her photographer for creating these fascinating photos, NcarbonStudios.
